Sun City is a musical theater collective that creates performances, installations and music about the city of the future. A sustainable, post-fossil city. A utopian city, really, that takes into consideration the environment, the climate, and above all, people. A city based on equality, which rejects exorbitant personal gains.
Sun City’s core members are musicians Ivo Schot and Frank van Kasteren and director/dramatist Jeek ten Velden. Additional artists and scientists are invited to collaborate on a project by project basis.
City of Sounds and Silence is an interactive three-dimensional radio play that takes you on a stroll through the city of the future. A city which is peaceful and noisy, familiar and unfamiliar, utopian and dystopian at the same time. But by all means a city where fossil fuels have been eliminated. Listen and imagine this city: What does it look like? How does it smell? What does it feel like? It’s up to you.
